The AFB Tournament Series “Pre-Season” is well underway, and has just finished up it’s 3rd tournament of the year. This event was held on Logan Martin Lake, and launched out of Lakeside Landing in Cropwell. Recent rain storms had the lake looking like chocolate milk, but all boats fishing the tournament returned to the weigh-in with 5 fish limits.
Small fish were very active throughout the day, but the bigger bites were a lot harder to come by. The team of Chris Cook and Mike Godfrey won the tournament with a 5 fish bag weighing 11lbs 8oz, and were closely followed up by an 11lb 3oz bag. Chris Cook won Big Fish honors with the 4lb 4oz largemouth shown in the picture to the right. He picked this fish up in the first 10 minutes of the tournament.

Our next "Pre-Season" tournament will be held on Lake Guntersville on October 15, 2011. We will be launching out of the Spring Creek public ramp. Tournament hours are from Safe-Light until 3:00PM. Our "Pre-Season" tournaments DO NOT require you to be a member of the AFB Tournament Series. We use these tournaments so that newcomers can get a feel for our tournament series.
